Quite number of women play in these leagues without official recognition. We have acknowledged some of them in earlier posts. Some women’s teams and leagues operate under the umbrella of an existing league to reduce operating costs. For some, it has been a challenge to give up autonomy. But it makes sense to consider the benefits of access to supportive men, who make available their existing infrastructure, to build women’s teams and leagues.
Also, if comfortable, playing with men who are only playing for the love of the game can be rewarding.
