Boston girls baseball team raising funds to play at Beyer Stadium

ROCKFORD — A girls baseball team more than a thousand miles away is raising money to play at historic Beyer Stadium.The Boston Slammers — a team of girls ages 9 to 13 who represent several communities in Boston and beyond — has almost reached their $16,000 goal to afford the trip to participate in the Baseball For All Nationals on July 27-31 at Beyer Stadium. Hundreds of girls ages 17 and younger from around the country plus their families are expected to attend.A
